Lifetime Achievement Award
Its Purpose and History
The WMCA Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a Wisconsin municipal clerk whose career reflects exceptional service, leadership, and dedication to the municipal clerk profession.
WMCA membership includes more than 1,400 municipal clerks, many of whom have served their communities in an exemplary manner. This award provides an opportunity to recognize a colleague whose significant contributions at the local, state, or national level deserve special honor.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a clerk for a job well done—not only during a single year, but throughout a distinguished period of service. Municipal clerks often serve longer than members of their governing bodies and build an extensive record of civic contribution, professional knowledge, and public service.
The individual selected for this honor may be viewed as a “silent public servant,” but those who know the clerk and understand the scope of the clerk’s work can attest to the effectiveness, dedication, and lasting impact of that service.
WMCA is proud to recognize the exceptional municipal clerks who have received the Lifetime Achievement Award and encourages members to continue identifying deserving colleagues for this prestigious honor.
