WMCA Certifications

The Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association (WMCA) is committed to promoting professional excellence through education, lifelong learning, and leadership development. Established in 2005, the WMCA Certification Program recognizes municipal clerks who demonstrate a commitment to professional growth, continuing education, and ethical service.

Wisconsin certifications are earned through a combination of education, professional experience, lifelong learning activities, and a commitment to the WMCA Code of Ethics. The program encourages clerks to continually expand their knowledge, strengthen their skills, and pursue excellence throughout their careers.

The WMCA offers two progressive certification levels: the Wisconsin Certified Municipal Clerk (WCMC) and the Wisconsin Certified Professional Clerk (WCPC). Clerks must first earn the WCMC designation before pursuing the WCPC designation.
