The Revised WMCA Constitution is on the Ballot

27th August 2016

Faith Elford

In 2015 at the Annual Meeting, a new constitution was passed that included a provision that for all subsequent elections for constitutional changes or when more than one officer is running for a position, the entire eligible voting members of the Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association will get to vote.

This is the subject of your first election as stated in WMCA Resolution #2016-01 - Adoption of Revised Constitution

WHEREAS, the WMCA Board of Directors met on June 3, 2016 and by unanimous vote approved the newly-revised and codified Constitution and recommends approval of the same and;

WHEREAS, the newly elected and sworn officers of the Board of Directors for 2016-2017 will not be affected by the amendments to the Constitution; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that amendments to the Constitution shall be distributed for a vote to the entire membership for 30 days following the Annual Business Meeting, and shall be adopted if 2/3 of the votes cast are in favor of the proposal.

Approved this 18th day of August, 2016.

As per the current constitution, all Active and Clerks-In-Transition (with their dues paid for the year) will receive a ballot via email.
