Russ Nero Retires!

11th February 2011

As the tasks of the holidays and work begin to overwhelm us, here is something to put on your calendar for January - Russ Nero's Retirement Party!!!

Many of you know that Russ has been very instrumental to WMCA. In his quite unassuming way, he has made an impact on our association and profession for a long period of time.
He is a Charter Member of WMCA and has served the association in its infancy and through the various phases of its growth and development by contributing his skills, talents and time for the betterment of the association. He has served in various positions on the elected board and on association committees.
Russ has been dedicated to his personal growth, development and education as well as that of WMCA members. It was through his vision that we now have the Wisconsin Clerks Education Fund (WCEF ) which is responsible for receiving donations to the fund. The funds are used for municipal clerk scholarships at WMCA approved institutes. Many clerks have benefited and will continue to benefit from Russ’s efforts to this endeavor.
Russ and his wife, Mary Ann, have been icons at the Silent Auction at our conferences. Can anyone recall a Silent Auction when Mary Ann wasn’t volunteering her time to the Auction and when Russ wasn’t scurrying around the room organizing things?
Please mark your calendar and try to attend Russ’s Farwell. Download the invitation below. If you are unable to attend, please take a moment to send him your best wishes and gratitude for all he and Mary Ann have done for our organization.
It is with clerks like Russ that our organization has continued to grow and become the strong organization that it is today! We thank each and every one of them for their service, and at this occasion we will recognize Russ for all he has done.
