Here is a list of some of the many benefits we offer our members.  (Click on any heading for more information):

  • The Clerk’s Listserv

(e-mail network) - an invaluable tool for communicating with over 600 other WMCA clerks instantly. A place to ask questions and get quick answers.  Email the WMCA Executive Director for the instructions to join clerklist.
  • Adopt-A-Clerk Program

We match new clerks with a seasoned clerk from the same type and size municipality. Call on them when you have a question.
  • Monthly WMCA E-Newsletter

The monthly E-Newsletter is emailed to all members on the 15th of the month and is full of up-to-date information about upcoming events, recent happenings, and other information important to our members.  You can also read the latest news and find out about upcoming events on this website.  Check out the news sections of the WMCA site.
  • UW–Green Bay Clerks and Treasurers Institute

UW-GB Institute is held for one week each July. The Institute offers classes that can lead to certification through either the Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association or the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
  • The PEC

The WMCA Professional Education Committee arranges for educational opportunities throughout the year dealing with topics like Board of Review, Parlimentary Procedures, SVRS and election processes, and many other topics related to municipal government.
  • Annual Conference

The WMCA Conference held each August at various locations throughout the state with the focus, again, on education.
  • Certification

Become a Wisconsin Certified Municipal Clerk and ultimately a Wisconsin Certified Professional Clerk.
  • District Meetings

The WMCA is divided into eight districts throughout the state. Each of the districts is lead by co-directors who arrange for two to three training sessions per year in your area. As you become familiar with your role in your municipality, you will come to realize that having friends who experience the same challenges as you do will be invaluable in terms of support, information, and resources.
  • Membership Directory

This on-line directory not only lets you see your full membership record with the WMCA, but you can look up your fellow members and colleagues.  Starting in 2013, when you register and attend WMCA educational sessions, i.e. the annual conference, district meeitngs, Board of Review, etc. your class hours will be posted in your record and you can see and print your credit hours from this directory..
